Prof. Dr. Friedrich Kerka
Born 1966 in Dortmund, he studied Economics at the Ruhr-University Bochum and received his doctorate at the Ruhr-University Bochum (thesis title “Structuring of Innovation Tasks – a Contribution to the Characterization and Explanation of Operational Change Processes”, Prof. Dr. Erich Staudt).
After working as a Research Fellow and Project Manager at the IAI (Institute for Applied Innovation Research) in Bochum from 01/1994-09/1997 and at the Institute of Labor Science, Chair of Labor Economics at the Ruhr-University Bochum from 10/1997-09/2001, he served as Chief Executive of the IAI from 10/2001-02/2009. He has been working as Managing Partner of Prof. Staudt Innovation-Consulting Ltd., Bochum, since 05/2004, as Professor of Business Administration, specialising in project management and controlling, at the Westfälische Hochschule (formerly known as Fachhochschule Gelsenkirchen) since 09/2005 and as Chief Executive of the IAI since 09/2012. Professor Kerka is the author of numerous professional publications and studies, especially in the fields of innovation management. He discusses his research topics at various conventions and symposia.
Research focus: technology and innovation management, technology transfer and innovation policy.
