Project Start WIDEN: Measuring Knowledge Transfer in the German University Landscape  - 08/01/2022

In the recently launched joint project WIDEN, ifi, together with the University of Speyer and Fraunhofer ISI, will take a closer look at the transfer profiles of universities and scientists from August 2022.

The understanding of what universities do for society has become increasingly widespread in recent years. In addition to the day-to-day business of research and teaching, knowledge transfer as another task of universities is now increasingly coming to to the public fore.

On August 1, the joint project WIDEN (Knowledge Transfer Profiles in German Higher Education) will be launched, in which the diverse knowledge transfer activities in the German higher education system will be fundamentally measured. Within the three-year project period, the joint team consisting of Fraunhofer ISI, the University of Speyer and ifi will investigate which transfer profiles prevail at universities, HAWs and individual scientists* and how these profiles interact.

WIDEN is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
